News Release Authority: PSSUPT DIONARDO B CARLOS, Provincial Director Prepared By: PCI EDCILLE V CANALS, Chief PIO Control No. 07-25 Contact No. 710-6895 / 09157868293 QPPO holds BPAT Seminar on Disaster Preparedness and Management First seminar for Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPATs) entitled “One Day Disaster Preparedness and Management Seminar” was conducted last July 19, 2013 held at Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Sariaya Quezon through the stewardship of PSSUPT DIONARDO B CARLOS together with QPPO PCR family headed by PCI Edcille V Canals and PCI Elmar B Sillador, OIC Sariaya Municipal Police Station. The seminar was graced by the presence of the guest speaker PSUPT FLORENDO S SALIGAO, Acting Chief, RPCRD while Mr. Kevin John M. Reyes and Ms. Jennifer S. Rivera from the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) 4A are the guest lecturers. PSUPT SALIGAO, Acting Chief, RPCRD stressed out that “the goal and common objectives in crime prevention and maintenance of peace and order can easily be attained if the support of the community, such as BPATs to the PNP are unending and untiringly offered that truly defined volunteerism”. He encouraged the BPAT members to “captivate more knowledge in the seminar to equip each and everyone with measures of protecting lives and properties”. PD Carlos states on his message that “the seminar is conducted to upgrade the skills and capabilities of BPATs member as partners of policemen in ensuring public safety and orderliness in the community. We need to establish a community-based relationship and we can’t be successful in our endeavor without your support”. PD Carlos stressed that “we have to recognize our BPATs for guarding the lives of our residents and protecting properties in our community. We also need to recognize their accomplishments”. He also acknowledge the capabilities of addressing prevailing problems in the community and encourages the PNP personnel and BPATs member to work deeper and further at the problems of the community. After the seminar PD Carlos said that “the active participation and involvement of the BPATs member is a clear manifestation of their immense desire to help Quezon police in its fight against criminality, to have a safer place to live, work and do business with”. ###
