News: Saudi Arabia Camp In Tunisia Preparing For Manila Saudi Arabia have chosen to camp in Tunisia for their preparatory training for the 27th FIBA Asia Championship to be played in Manila from Aug 1-11 with a tri-nation tournament planned involving the home team and Cote d’Ivoire. Saudi Arabia return to the FIBA Asia Championship after a gap of eight years – and three editions – having finished eighth in their last appearance in this competition at the 23rd FIBA Asia Championship held at Doha (Qatar) in 2005. Saudi Arabia will also field one of the youngest players in the competition in Nasir Abojalas (pic above) who turned 19 only this June. The 195-cm forward, who played a crucial role in Saudi Arabia winning the silver medal at the 1st FIBA Asia 3x3 Championship for Men and Women at Doha earlier this year, averaged 15.3 points per game at the 22nd FIBA Asia U18 Championship in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) last year. Under Serbian coach Nenad Kradzic, Saudi Arabia are drawn with hosts Philippines, Chinese Taipei and Jordan in Group A of the Prelim Round at the 27th FIBA Asia Championship.
