The convoy then travels on to Linaclete, where there’s to be a mini-athletics and games event from 10.15am, and if weather permits the baton will be carried by helicopter to St Kilda, with help from Qinetiq and the MoD, for a unique photo-stop on the furthest outpost of the islands. At 2pm a science and storytelling day begins at Tarbert Rally Park, with the relay of three baton-bearers due to set off at 3.30pm. The baton then travels by convoy to Sporsnis at Lionel, where a family day with fun activities will be under way from 3pm.
