News Update US Ambassador to Islamabad Richard Olson Wednesday said continued cooperation between Pakistan and the United States was necessary for enhancing their trade and investment ties, and supporting Pakistani entrepreneurs. He was talking to the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) where he was invited for a discussion with business and industry leaders, said an embassy statement. Ambassador Olson highlighted how both countries were partnering to create a pro-business, pro-investment, and pro-innovation climate. Federal Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Wednesday said the IDEAS- 2014 has witnessed 100 percent more participation in comparison to that of IDEAS-2012. Three hundred companies from 50 countries are participating in this defence exhibition and it has received high appreciation from them, the Minister told media during his visit to IDEAS- 2014 Pakistan at Karachi Expo Centre here. He said, this is a big opening for Pakistan to the international market. The countrys defence export has already doubled in last 15 months, he added. The present governments mission is to achieve self-reliance in defence technology.
