News from the Canton Parks Director: As a result of heavy rains sustained over the past 48 hours the three branches of the Nimishillen Creek that run through the city are beginning to reach flood levels throughout several park locations. Due to the current conditions and the forecast of additional rainfall Canton Parks will be closing the following park locations until further notice: - Arboretum - Cook - Martindale - Monument - Mother Gooseland - Reifsnyder - Schreiber - Stadium - Waterworks - West In addition to these parks where flooding has already been documented, we ask that all citizens and park patrons avoid areas within our other park locations that border the Nimishillen Creek due to the potential hazards of strong water currents. Canton Parks will continue to monitor the situation to assure that other parks and park roadways are not compromised by encroaching flood waters.
