News from the Vatican: Pope Francis has convened a commission on the annulment process and the question of giving the Eucharist to divorced people who have been married in civil court. As well, there are now 5 women on the Theological Committee who will look at integrating women more fully into the Catholic experience. My take: they are probably going to looses the definition of annulment to include a cultural reason - for those saying that their marriage had always been more of a temporary fix or considered lightly or temporary. Divorcees - dont be optimistic. This is more window dressing, and will likely hurt the Popes image as a large-scale reformer.
