News just coming in: Former budget director Paul Mphwiyo has been arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau ACB. Police sources say Mr. Mphwiyo is currently at Lilongwe police station and his charges are not known. Reports suggest he’s been arrested alongside his wife. Mphwiyo’s arrest comes barely hours after ACB also arrested the newly appointed Director of the Public Officers’ Assets Declaration- lawyer Christopher Tukula. Mphwiyo has been under ACB investigations over his alleged role in the infamous cash-gate scam. Earlier ACB spokesperson Egrita Ndala could neither confirm nor deny the arrest saying she will make appropriate communication later. His shooting in September last year was followed by revelations of massive plunder of government resources.
