News report published in the National Network weekly newspaper recently stated that Mr. Monday Ngbor, a supposed political stakeholder from Tai, Ogoni, called on Mr. Nyesom Nwike to contest the Governorship election come 2015! For the avoidance of doubt, Chief Monday Ngbor, is an Ogoni and a member of the Grassroot Democratic Initiative, the political organization of Mr. Nyesom Nwike who organized a rally in Bodo, Gokana. I do not know if Mr. Ngbor, thinks it is appropriate for a multi-ethnic state like Rivers State to produce a Governor from the same Ikwerre area for sixteen years considering the way politics is played in the state. Given that Mr. Ngbor is playing only politics of the stomach; does he sincerely believe that a Nwike governorship is fair to the Ogonis? I have heard that Mr. Mgbor is titled Mene Doole 1 of Tai and I assume that titled was given to him based on his generosity and philanthropy. What has changed that he no longer thinks of the overall interest of the Ogoni people and now only thinks of how to fill his pocket with free money from Abuja? Mr Monday is a seasoned politician and if he is any significant in his chosen camp, then I advise him to aspire for the governorship of Rivers State come 2015. It is a gross slap on the entire Ogoni for a grown man to stoop that low in our present political estimation to produce the next Governor of Rivers State from Ogoni. Ogonis are watching for true leaders.
