News update from #OccupyBrazil Translation Group Turkey: Kerem Ağacıkoğlu: Istanbul looks calm in the sense of protests with police intervention against them. People started to gather in various Parks of the city and they are brainstorming every night during forums. New and bright ideas still coming up.. However there are still rough police interventions in other cities such as Ankara and Eskisehir. Standing man has happened out of the blue.. One guy just showed up 2-3 days ago and stood still in the middle of Taksim Square facing the AKM opera/theater house building which has 2 Turkish flags and an Ataturk poster hang on it. The police tried to intervene however they had no concrete reason to do that so. Because standing still is not a crime which is included in the law books. Then this way of protest started to expand and too many people started to gather around the standing man. Now people started to stand still everyday infront of symbolic areas facing either a Turkish flag or a monument during various times of the day and for various periods. People still beat their cooking pans with spoons and scoops on the windows at 9:00 PM and the brainstorming sessions still go on in the Parks of Istanbul. Özge Dalgıç: In Bursa-Turkey people gather in Heykel Square and protest just by reading books. This is called #readingpeopleprotest in Bursa. They also think to vary these protests and organize a #drawingman and such other passive and quiet protests without chanting any slogans. #Brazil is still waking up: #Bulgaria will post later: via #OccupySLO
