Newsday: Free September prostate cancer screenings State Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with South Nassau Communities Hospital and the Integrated Medical Foundation, will sponsor two separate free prostate cancer screening events in Freeport and Wantagh. The Freeport screening will be held on Sept. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Freeport Recreation Center, 130 E. Merrick Rd. The Wantagh screening will be conducted on Sept. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Wantagh Library, 3285 Park Ave. The program will be open to all men ages 40 and older who have not been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Screenings will include a prostate-specific antigen blood test. Patients will be required to show photo ID containing an address at the time of the screening. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins will be accepted. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
