Newsletter - 07th August SENIOR REPORT - SAT 03rd AUGUST A massive achievement for our Under 20s who won the Championship Final on Saturday at Eden Park. A great performance of hard rugby was displayed by these young players. They played with 14 men for the last 40 minutes & fought hard leaving everything out on that field and came away with a solid victory 33-31. The team dominated every minute of the game with some great leadership by captain Mitch Willis who rallied his players well. Some brilliant team tries were scored by midfielder Penaia Penaia and a try each to the big front row of Tolo Halangahu, Victor Thompson-Hokai and Ashton Bell. Under 21s finished off their season by winning the Plate final in great fashion, demolishing Waitemata 45-20. Well done to these two young grade teams. They show a depth of promising talent for the 2014 season. Our Women were without a couple of key players for their Cup Semi-Final agsint Waikato unfortunately going down to Waikato 18-35 at home on Saturday. They showed great spirit and form but when a couple of key players came off with injuries Waikato took advantage and scored a couple of easy tries. Great season by a young team and we will be hoping for more success in 2014. Raiders added another win which see them take their unbeaten winning streak to 48 games when they outclassed the University Squids 65-0. Bombers were left disappointed when come Saturday morning they were told of another default to them by University Debt Collectors. Shooters were hard done by in the bowl semi just going down to Pakuranga 15-17. A great season by new coach Kyle True and will be serious contenders for the cup championship in 2014. First Grade are still in the hunt for the Championship final after a great win against Mt Wellington 28-6. They play top of the table Teachers Eastern at home on Saturday and a win this week should see them fighting for a finals berth. CROCS were too strong against Manukau winning 7 tries to 2. They have a few more games so get down and help the lads out finish off a great season.
