Next....... EC Davies participatory work, ‘Donthinklove’, invited audience members to take part in an art experience: choose from a selection of love-heart decorated balaclavas, chalk the words ‘I love you’ on a card, and be photographed by the artist. The anonymous photos are shared online as part of the ongoing ‘Donthinklove’ series, where they can be shared with friends. Subsequent to this, each participant was invited to send a photograph of his or herself wearing their balaclava to the artist, which she in turn used as a basis for a series of painted portraits. Davies was born in St Helens, and lives in Berlin, Germany, and Durham. Her second solo exhibition for Vane, ‘A stitch in time’, was in April 2013.
