Next, Happy Birthday to makeup effects legend, and one of my role - TopicsExpress

Next, Happy Birthday to makeup effects legend, and one of my role models, Rick Baker! Hes worked on several famous and well known films. Let me list off some to give you an idea on how big of an impact hes had on modern cinema. 1. Star Wars (1977) 2. The Howling (1981) 3. The Funhouse (1981) 4. An American Werewolf in London (1981) 5. Videodrome (1983) 6. Thriller (1983) 7. Silver Bullet (1985) 8. Harry and the Hendersons (1987) 9. Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) 10. The Rocketeer (1991) 11. Matinee (1993) 12. Wolf (1994) 13. Ed Wood (1994) 14. The Frighteners (1996) 15. Men in Black 1-3 (1997-2012) 16. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) [P.S. The Grinch makeup that he created is probably the only redeemable factor of this abomination.] 17. Planet of the Apes (2001) [Same as with The Grinch.] 18. The Ring (2002) 19. Hellboy (2004) 20. The Wolf Man (2010) Some of Ricks best work, to me at least, can be found in The Funhouse and An American Werewolf in London. In The Funhouse, he created with Craig Reardon one of the most bizarre, frightening and unique movie monsters of the 80s! And in An American Werewolf in London, he helped make one of the most terrifying looking werewolves in all of cinema, and one of the absolute best if I may add! Below is the documentary Masters of Horror, where several of the genres most influential filmmakers talk about their work and their different styles. The interview with John Landis and Rick Baker starts at 47:38, and it shows a lot about the making of An American Werewolf in London, as well as showing why Rick is the legend that he is today. Happy B-Day Rick!
