Next Presidency Physics Colloquium on 22nd October at A J C Bose Auditorium, Main Building, Presidency University at 2 pm Title: Introduction to basic Graphene physics Speaker: Prof. Krishnenu Sengupta, IACS, Kolkata (iacs.res.in/theoph/tpks/) Abstract: In this talk, I am going to discuss the basic physics of graphene electrons which ultimately leads to realization of (2+1)D Dirac theory in this material. This will be followed by a discussion of some basic consequences of this realization and their difference with standard Schrodinger physics normally found in other condensed matter systems.
