Next Stop, USS Makin Island! GROTON, Conn (March 27, 2014) - Master Chief Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Surface Warfare) Sean Davidson (left) accepts a congratulatory handshake and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold Star in lieu of Third Award) from Captain Andrew Jarrett, commanding officer, Naval Submarine School, as he prepares to transfer to USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Master Chief Davidson was Department Master Chief and Alternate Contracting Officers Representatiave for Naval Submarne Schools Training Support Department from September 2011 to March 2014. Master Chief Davidsons administrative savvy and superb management were key in the functional operations of an undermanned staff of 35 personnel in Training Support. His oversight and placement of over 300 enlsited staff members ensured the best Sailor for each billet, supporting Naval Submarine Schools primary mission of training future submariners. As the Command Managed Equal Opportunity Manager, he provided valuable training and guidance to over 2,000 Sailors, leaving a lasting footprint of equal opportunity and respect. As Alternate Contracting Officer, Master Chief Davidson provided inexhaustible resources in the maintenance and upkeep of 40 submarine training devices. By his unswerving determination, wise judgement and complete dedication to duty, Master Chief Davidson reflected credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
