Next Up… We decided to end our San Francisco trip with 2 - TopicsExpress

Next Up… We decided to end our San Francisco trip with 2 challenges. Number 1…as the flamboyant city is known for its steep hills, we decided to climb the steepest one. Now im not the the most physically fit person and as pretty as it was (decieving) it was definitely an achievement to get to the top of the Lombard street hill. After which we rewarded ourselves by enjoying & very much indulging in the St Patrics Day celebrations, it turns out drinking green beer was challenge Number 2. Day 3 Over the next few days we headed back to Los Angeles for an overnight stay to have a little rest before continuing to the State of Nevada…where we had a not so nice surprise on the way. First of all can I just say we drove with the Greyhound bus which was cool (I love watching movies and you always see the Greyhound busses travelling between town & cities)…another tick off my list. As we were driving towards the desert states of America it reminded me some what of the lanscapes when driving between town and cities here in Namibia. The way there was touristy in its own right…we travelled through 3 states in one day (California, Arizona & Nevada). Our first stop was at Yosemite Park one of America’s protected National Parks, it bousts with deep valleys, a grove of ancient sequoia trees, waterfalls splashing into Yosemite Valley, and hundreds of wildlife. This is where we got our first warning of what is to come… We made a pit stop at out Hoover Dam once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Arizona & Nevada. Since we headed for a desert we didn’t think we needed to pack too much warm clothes (especially since we checked the weather so actually we didn’t pack any warm clothes). Biiiiig mistake as we drove into an unexpected snow storm.
