Next missile: Media types, artists, bands, event planners, DIY organizers, self promoters; any of you out there in a marketing capacity or new culture types.... I want you to look at this slick and groovy ad for this upcoming benefit for a well put together and organized Thanksgiving Food Drive going on in the beautiful city of Tacoma Washington USA. Not just the ad itself but look at the lineup and the layout and what you see here in plain print: wouldnt you want to check it out? Its for a great cause, its a great lineup highlighted by a finalist on one of the shall remain nameless but still has talent shows who has a voice that anyone would come away from this event having donated a cool clean c note to this benefit and still feel they had got their moneys worth. And even before the event, the Food Drive has collected over 1000.00 (which was well over their original goal to simply buy a bunch of turkeys and Thanksgiving food and specialty items) and growing. And it looks fun and inviting and a friend sent it to you so dont you DARE think of not going! Now; you are going to incorrectly guess that somewhere a team of Protravel people helped out on this; or a group of a dozen community organizers and volunteers worked overtime for a month in advance to put together. Or maybe a media relations person mobilized their office staff to help out. None of the above. This was spearheaded and accomplished by a single very smart and articulate and resourceful and talented woman who simply lives in the community, is a part of it; and gives a shit about the people that live in it. Get that? Read that part back ok? One woman and a gaggle of friends who helped her and I will leave it to her to name them if she so chooses. Oh and I have heard her sing herself and when she finally calms down after doing good works for others; you can believe you will be hearing more about this remarkable young woman. Now, I beg of you before I have to do it; will whichever one of you that has this weeks pathway to the stars map please immediately hire this woman? How could you NOT? Friends, colleagues, clients, other music makers and their attendant various industries, please allow me the pleasure to introduce Ms Heidi Stoermer!
