Cosplay: Mary read Assassin Creed 4 black flag Location: texas About me: I bad have social anxiety and I always wanted to cosplay and finally did it. This is my first cosplay I ever made, hand stitched, took 3 months. Positive side: I asked for advice from other Mary Read cosplayers on deviant art and they were very supportive. When I went out in it, I was SO scared that I kept my head down and didnt talk, just smiled. People who didnt know who I was, really admired my cosplay. I did get tackled when I switched to James Kidd, which was kinda funny. Good side is I found some people in my fencing class that cosplay and they give me pointers and I feel happy I made friends with them. Negative side to it: I did meet several rude AC cosplayers who glared at me at sanjapan. I met a rude Alucard at onicon. I felt SO bad that I avoid eye contact or dont talk to anyone. =S Im terrified to talk to people. I will smile and give the thumbs up because Im afraid to say something to admirers. U_U *unless I am with friends or relatives, Im very bubbly.* I did get several emails from cosplayers, who are against cosplay bullying, saying Im not a cosplayer for reusing fabric I cut up. At onicon, I met 3 nice AC cosplayers that hugged me and wish I had gotten a pic with them. =< They made my day they rock. Anyways, My advice is, seek help, try talking and people will admire your work. Dont let people OR your senpai bring you down. Its sad and hurtful at first, that I just wanted to give up but didnt. Im not the best but Im glad I did cosplay. Will from now on.
