Next, we have Ameera Natasha Moore from the International Islamic University, Malaysia! An impressively decorated debater and a master of ESL (English as a Sassy Language), Ameera Natasha Moore is one hell of a debater. Although, now is possibly not the most apt time to excessively praise, considering her recently acquired title as Debate Queen for her Overall Best Speaker achievement at the Cambridge Womens Open 2014. We might run the risk of inflating her ego too much...that it would almost be as big as her heart. (Hehe) With that being said, amid her vehement dedication to her debating career, reflected in the awards she has received, (ESL Champion at Australs for 2013 AND 2014, for instance), her problems are mainly very grounded ones like people coming up to her and contemplating the authenticity of her ethnicity (Eh are those coloured contact lenses ah?) and loving cats despite being allergic to their fur. This masochistic relationship with felines stemmed out of her great love for them - which is not unlike her relationship with debating. Shes also adj-cored at Kids BP 2014 and at National Novice Debating Championship 2014, her commitment to improving debaters and debating scenes not premised upon how adorable they are (like how there are also ugly cats). Overall, (ESL Best Speaker at Australs 2014; I got tired of subtlety), Merr is a spectacular woman of whom we can all be glad is part of the adjudication core of the National Novice Championship this year. Her knowledge of Mean Girls quotes might befuddle you into thinking this girl is acerbic, but after the storm has calmed, shell shake your hand and tell you Sure, you can sit with us.
