Next week I will be representing BUGB at the National Caucus for the Persecuted Church. The blurb states: The focus is going to be primarily on the situation in Northern Iraq and we have several senior military and other figures coming to facilitate expert discussion on how best to help the Christian IDPs [Internally Displaced Persons] focussing on the asylum, stay put and safe haven options - in the light of what is now known from the support agencies (including UNHCR), the political and military analysts, the views of the regional clergy and the Christians themselves. The Refugee Council are coming as are 7 or more NGOs, various Lords, political analysts, senior clergy, the FCO, the Canadian High Commission for Religious Freedom etc. Whilst I will clearly be doing my homework, and will be supplied with briefing papers, I thought Id ask here if my fellow Baptist Collaborators have wisdom and thoughts to share - seeing as Im there in a representative role on behalf of us all...
