Ney agistorya nak wen, ag pay payso atoy nga istorya, diay Pattao Elementary School met ti ayan ko, asideg diay acacia tree that I kept saying wow! DO YOU KNOW...(Psst agingles nakon ah nga ikar karigatak kasi baka dagitay English speaking haan da ammo atoy nauneg ah panag Ilocanok!!!!!!) SIGE?? okay! I was admiring how huge and beautiful the Acacia tree was inside Pattao Elementary School, I wanted to go near it and touch the trunk because I was so fascinated. Do you know what they told me???? MATAY KA NO UMASIDEG KA AGUNGET DIAY KAPRE NGA AG BANBANTAY...(All eaten nen kasanon nga iying lish atan...guray!) I was told to do not touch the trunk of the tree to admire it because an enchanted giant old man with a large beard is guarding the tree and if I go near it I will die!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!! Serious I said laughing but mind you I was looked at like I was the weird one if I did not believe this!!!!!! Okay, I am stubborn, remember I have camped in the middle of the forest many times, I do not want to brag but I have even walked 15 miles to the bottom of Grand Canyon and Havasu falls just to camp, and I do mean huge gigantic trees simultaneously encircled our tents! Okay so, I said do not worry, I will pray. To make my story short, I still touched it because I wanted to know how truly thick the trunk was (to semi estimate lang po the age of the tree) if that was a tree planted during my Grandpas time? Well, I did not die po after touching the trunk, I was not sick either. Then I start to question yan na diay kayo nga dakkel nga adda idi last vacation ko I asked...and this bothers me when it is gone. I was told there was a raised dirt at the bottom of the tree...adda nabuntoon nga daka diay siruk ngamin ti kayo...so? I said. Oh Manang, adda dwende nga nakita diay asawak dita, (nabartek manen ah!) ag balbalay da dita ne, so nga nabuntoon diay daga. OOOOPSS...NAHIHIRAPAN AKO MAG ENGLISH!!!!!!! Gurya LOL. :) Okay...so I said honey, there are no little dwarfs living under the trees that you cut, please, it could be ants or termites maybe??? Anyway...here is the bottom line. WE ALL LOVE TO CUT TREES, AS IF TREES ARE A NUISANCE, OR IT IS JUST ADDITIONAL WORK TO CLEAN UP. WE DO NOT EVEN CARE THAT THERE IS ILLEGAL LOGGING BECAUSE WE JUST CLOSE OUR EYES TO IT?? RIGHT? IN AMERICA, WHERE THEY DO LOGGING? IF THEY CUT ONE TREE, THEY REPLACE IT WITH 100. WE IN PINAS DO NOT EVEN REPLACE IT WITH ONE, MOST OF THE TIME NO, RIGHT? SO SAD. DID YOU KNOW? TREES ARE BENEFICIAL FOR OUR LIVES, STOP CUTTING THEM DOWN APO AH. IF YOU CUT IT DOWN TO BUILD YOUR HOUSE OKAY I UNDERSTAND, BUT REPLACE IT!!!!!!! PLANT MORE TREES. LET US STOP THINKING OF NOW, OR 5 MINUTES FROM NOW, LET US THINK YEARS FROM NOW FOR THE SAKE OF THE NEXT GENERATION. I KNOW PO, SOMEBODY WILL BE MAD AT ME AGAIN..ANO NGAYON ANG SINASABI NIYA SAVE TREES??? WEHHH, IF ONE PERSON WILL PLANT ONE TREE BECAUSE THEY READ MY NOTE (SEE COMMENTS TOO)...I WOULD HAVE SUCCEEDED!!!!!!!!!! :). TREES PRODUCES OXYGEN, WE CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT OXYGEN, THINK ABOUT IT PO. CHECK MY COMMENTS IF YOU CAN. THANK YOU AND MAY GOD BLESS US ALL. The Pattao Acacia is still standing today, and yes, so huge na and beautiful! Signing off po. I wish you a blessed happy day. :)
