Nice interview with the Sabres equipment manager about the first large event held in NYC after the 9/11 attacks...the Sabres/Rangers game on October 7th, 2001. I had the great honor of being to the first large sporting event held ANYWHERE in the US after 9/11, the September 22nd game against Wisconsin. The clearest memory I have of the game was the moment of silence held before the game during which I could hear my own heartbeat and the wind blowing despite being packed into the stadium with over 105,000 other fans...it was an eerie and awe inspiring moment.
