Nice little introduction to astronomical scale. Ive seen - TopicsExpress

Nice little introduction to astronomical scale. Ive seen people post this video with comments about how insignificant humans are in the grand scheme of things. Id like to counter that argument with this observation: in our observable universe we have found very few signs of there even being potential for life. Yet, here we are, spinning rapidly around our sun in our own little cluster of the universe, alive and well (for now). With the advent of the silicone chip we have made exponential strides in technology every decade, with more to follow (search quantum computing). Despite our minuscule size weve created and built massive structures (skyscrapers, supercomputers, internet, space station) that dwarf our physical bodies, but also augment our potential to create. In my opinion, human lives (any form of life, really) is extremely significant in our universe. The odds have never been in our favor, but were here, creating, overcoming, and hopefully in the future, spreading and discovering even more about what this physical universe holds for us.
