Nice summary, per Jeremy Burton: 67 years ago today the U.N. voted to partition the British Mandate in Palestine and create two states. The Jews accepted partition though it meant giving up hopes of a Jewish state in large parts of the homeland. The Arab nations rejected the idea of a Jewish presence in any part of the land. They invaded. The Palestinian people ended up without a country of their own. 67 years later were still dealing with the mess created by Arab leaders rejectionism and the fear of annihilation it incubated in the Jewish people.
