Nice to see some articles encouraging a more balanced approach to eating recently. Whilst there are definitely some positive aspects in a lot of popular diets, this doesnt make them a long term health and weight loss solution for everybody. Some people may find a certain diet fits in with their lifestyle and food preferences and follow it with great success, but everyone is different and what works for one person will not always work for someone else. If you do choose to follow a more restrictive approach to eating, it is important to be aware of the possible downfalls of the diet and find ways to counteract this to ensure your are not missing any important nutrients. For example, if you are excluding dairy from your diet, have you made sure you are getting calcium from other sources? Remember for long term results you really need to be able to follow a diet for the rest of your life, not just for a few weeks, which is often why a more balanced diet that does not exclude food groups and is not too restrictive is often the easiest to follow for the long-term. It is also important to focus on the delicious, healthy food out there that is good for your body than all the foods you should be avoiding! theguardian/science/2014/dec/05/diets-claims-do-they-work-paleo-5-2-bulletproof
