Nice try, google? There are so many reasons why theres such an imbalance that simply throwing money at it is far from adequate. I remember in college a lot of the girls who were computer science majors went out of their way to *hide* the fact that they were computer science majors. The problem reflects a stigma around being a woman and being interested in tech, a problem with the way we socialize girls to either not be interested or not admit it if they are. Then theres also the rampant misogyny within the programs, guys condescendingly saying things like Oh wow, she actually knows how to use linux, Im impressed guys rushing to the window like panting dogs to see a half - naked woman changing in the apartment across the street. Guys creating an environment where the shape of your ass has more to do with how far your career goes than the quality of your code or ability to lead. Women dont want to go to school and work in places like that, so the ones who choose to do so have to *really love* coding for codings sake. Because it sure as hell isnt the environment guys create with their dominating majority.
