Nicholas is a month old already, but he is still in the NICU at Randall Childrens Hospital. He is no longer on oxygen, but learning to eat is taking awhile. He is stronger now, but will still occasionally pretty much sleep through a feeding. I am staying with him and sleeping at the Ronald McDonald house. I am very grateful that he is getting such high quality care, I have learned a lot about infant care during our month here. I also appreciate the generosity and kindness of people involved in RMH charities, having a sanctuary to escape to even just a few hours each night is a real blessing to me. Damon has had to return to work so we have him two days a week. Its not enough for any of us, its lonely here but at least Im with Nick. I am frustrated and exhausted much of the time but so is every new mom. Nick is lots of fun and makes me happy just to look at. He is a sweet tempered baby and a big favorite with the staff here. I cant wait until we can go home!
