Nick Piatek is a current resident of Liberty, New York who has done a lot for the community, with credits that include the Liberty Rail Trail, a great reuse of the former New York Ontario & Western Railroad bed in the town. Thanks to modern drone technology, hes now captured a Liberty icon -- Hilligs Castle -- on video. Hes done a spectacular job. The history of the place begins with its construction, under the aegis of Otto Hillig, an early aviator and local photographer, from local river stone. During the near-century that its been there, the building has had its ups and downs, and the one-time display of painted white rocks spelling LIBERTY has been invisible for many years.
