Nick and I heard an incredibly moving message this morning in church that was certainly an answer to a prayer. This time next week, we will be preparing to leave for Cleveland to see a neurosurgeon for Tripp. Fear of the unknown has been weighing heavy on our hearts the last few days. After speaking with Tripps doctor, he feels that Tripp is a candidate for the surgery and gave us a series of questions to ask when we meet with the neurosurgeon. Ive been anxious about meeting with the NS, as Im not sure that he will think Tripp is a good candidate. Nick and I both agree that we want to give Tripp the best chance to be as close to seizure free as possible. We also want him to have the ability to grow and learn and improve. The message this morning was about FEAR. We heard from Pastor Greg that God doesnt give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and love. Fear keeps us from reaching our full potential. Jeremiah 29:11 tells that God has a plan for us and its not to harm us, but to give us hope and a future. It was very clear to me that our spirit of fear could keep Tripp from reaching his full potential. It was a very emotional message for both of us to hear. In listening to this sermon, I realized that God was answering our prayer, while comforting our hearts . We plan to meet with the NS with an open mind and an open heart, just like when we went to Lebonheur the first time. We took Tripp there because our Childrens here in Birmingham told us to prepare to lose him. We were scared, but prayed for peace and understanding and went to Memphis with an open heart. God opened many doors for our family to get there and we are watching the doors open for us to get to Cleveland. Today, I am thankful for a merciful God whose plan is always greater than our own. Im claiming a perfect peace over this next week. I refuse to invite fear into our lives. 1 John 4:4 reminds us ...greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. We appreciate your prayers over our family. God bless you, sweet friends. We love you with all of our hearts.
