Nicole Morris asked me to name my TOP TEN albums EVER, that is a ball-ache but here this: TELL ME YOURS EVERYONE TOO. Iron Maiden - Rock In Rio I sat for ages on this one. Rock In Rio captures everything I love about Maiden, now. Back, on top of the world, a set-list that spreads wide over twelve albums, in front of hundreds of thousands who sing every word, it is electric. Every song, every note. Youll never really understand why Iron Maiden are my favourite band until youve heard this album. Queen - Queen I Everyone loves Queen but this Queen is pure rock and roll. Its raw and mean fun and super-charged, determined to pack a punch and while they went on to be the best band in the world (except from Iron Maiden obviously) who manage to cross-genres and cross-dress better or worse-r than anybody else. For me, this album stands up against all the legendary rock bands and albums in the world and it never gets its due. Dio - Evil Or Divine: Live In New York City I love this album in the same way I love Rock In Rio, this album is a pure celebration of everything that is Ronnie James Dio and they all take it to the next level. If you think youve heard Holy Diver / Rainbow In The Dark / Man On The Silver Mountain - a million times before, the performance here is unmatched. Every single song is improved on by the band in a way that makes you feel like you never want to listen to them any other way again. Bruce Dickinson - The Chemical Wedding When I was 13/14, nu-metal was heavily on the scene, people were asking me all the time, are you into Slipknot or Korn, whatever...and I wasnt. I loved Iron Maiden and Metallica and that was a far-cry away from all these guys screaming about being lonely and sad and I just didnt get it. I picked this album up by chance when I was in a shop one day and it totally changed my life, Id didnt know Bruce had a solo career, I didnt know what it was I had, this ugly demon troll on the cover and then I put it on to hear this CRUSHING intro of drums and distorted guitar just churning and ripping out of nowhere and I was hooked, Bruces vocals snarling and booming away, Id never heard metal like that, Id never heard Bruce Dickinson like this and I loved it. While everyone else was diving around to the agony clank for a few months, I fell in love with Roy Z forever. No homo. Helloween - The Dark Ride Same story, picked it up as I was walking out, these big black dark pumpkin box, couldnt even tell you why. It came with a pumpkin lighter which my granddad promptly dismantled. Amazing that by random I managed to go and pick up what is widely considered as two of the best albums in the same day but thus began my love affair with Helloween. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here/Animals - Flawless. Warm. Everything. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III = Zep III has the perfect balance of rock/blues/folk ever, thats why I picked it over the others, it has variety in a solid way that doesnt falter at all. As you can tell Ive run out of ambition to keep writing so heres these too: King Diamond - Fatal Portrait. Electric Six - Zodiac Megadeth - Rust In Peace
