Nicole is absolutely precious. Her weight says 37lbs, but she is TINY; she looks more like 20-25lbs. I met her this morning. Not sure what shes mixed w, but she is the most adorable tiny little pitty; a micro pitty, looks smaller than a pocket pitty! Shes very frightened in the shelter and sort of in her own world, wary to trust strangers. My semi-educated guess would be that she was kept in a crate somewhere, used only for breeding, not allowed to be a family pet, so unsure of herself. You can tell shes had many litters and shes filthy too, so not very well cared for. A vol and I walked her around a bit and once out of the shelter, she actually trotted along and became much more at ease. It would be a shame for this petite precious to die today w/o ever being able to be part of a real family. We were able to get until 3pm on her, but the shelter has already said, we will not get any more time. She needs a solid commitment by 3pm today!! nycsecondchancerescue.org to apply
