Total Personnel: 673 Size: 1,178 Acres Percent Contained: 5% Fuels Involved: Timber, and Pinion-Juniper, with sagebrush and grass. Significant Events: Active crown fire along with flanking and backing were observed during the day. The fire has burned actively at night as well as day, primarily driven by wind and terrain. Low wind speeds cause the fire to drop from the canopy to ground and continue burning. Planned Actions: Helicopter transport of crew to pre-identified landing zones. Direct attack by air will support crew safety and slow the rate of spread. Projected Incident Activity Potential large fire spread to the south/southeast. Remarks: Fire is burning actively with long range spotting. Crown fire and actively flanking and backing fire are observed during the day. The fire is burning actively at night primarily wind and terrain driven. Weather Concerns: Temperatures are trending upward - well above normal by Sunday. Humidities will trend downward.
