Nigeria: Iyanya, DBanj, Tuface Others Bag World Music Awards Nominations 20 February 2014 , By Micheal Abimboye, Source: Premium Times Some of Nigerias music stars including Tuface, Iyanya, Dbanj, Tiwa Savage, Davido, and Wizkid bagged nominations in various categories at the 2014 World Music Awards. With the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, IFPI, providing the organizers with the names of the best-selling artists from all major territories, the World Music Awards, which is regarded as the best music awards because of its transparency, will honour the best-selling recording artists from every continent. The World Music Awards are based on sales merit and voted by the public on the Internet as there is no jury involved. The worlds best-selling recording-artists in each category are determined by a thorough inquiry conducted by the organizers which includes sales figures and record certification in 2013. Kukere master, Iyanya, leads with six nominations for his hit singles Away and Le Kwa Ukwu. Tiwa Savage, Waje, and Seyi Shay are the female Nigerian artistes nominated. The Egberi papa1, Timaya, was nominated courtesy of the re-make of his Shake Yur Bum by Carribeans Michael Montana; while DBanj got nominated for his Oliver Twist hit. Femi Kuti, the Afro Beat kings latest album, No Place For My Dream and Wajes W.A.J.E, were nominated for the Best Album category. Other Nigerian artistes who got nominations are Davido, Wizkid, Banky W, P-Square, Olamide, Mode9, Dr. Sid, Davido, 2face Idibia, Darey, Ice Prince and KCee. Awards for Worlds Best Male Artist, Best Female, Best Group, Best Electronic Dance Music Artist, Best Entertainer of the Year, Best Live Act, Best Song, Best Album and Best Video are voted online by the general public.
