Nigeria has indigenous population unlike the United States with its immigrants population. The Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa, Kanuri, Ijaw, Edo etc were created by God and stationed in their current sovereignty. But in the United States, all the Whites, Blacks, Arabs and Asians, came from Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia respectively. Nigeria should not copy the United States political system of states as federating units. Regional Autonomy is the only way to go about restructuring the Nigerian political system. When the British colonial thugs were still colonizing people in Nigeria, the people revolted against them and while they were being chased out as from 1951, the diverse people of Yoruba, Ibo and Hausa and Fulani negotiated with these colonial thugs and established parliamentary system based on ethnic regions as the federating units of Nigeria. The regional system was later suspended in 1966 by the Ibo. The Hausa/Fulani then changed the system to unitary with states as federating units. Ever since, our lives have been miserable. Since then, the Yoruba have insisted that we must go back to regions as federating units and practice parliamentary system. The Gambari and the Ibo, who have relied on the Yoruba wealth and resources for their development are against Regional Autonomy. The only option left for the Yoruba Youths of today is to take Yorubaland out of Nigeria. If we dont do it now, our childrens children will be enslaved by the Gambari and the Ibo. Perception is everything in life. Gambari and Ibo viewed the Yoruba as cowards. Everything we demanded before the start of the ongoing National Conference have been refused us. If we now still cant declare the United Oduduwa Peoples Republic, then the next-generation of the Yoruba people will have to live with being called cowards with the possibility of being slaves in their own homeland.
