Nigeria have replaced injured Kano Pillars defender Umar Zango with Ahmed Idris of Mighty Jets for next month’s AFCON warm-up matches against Cote d’Ivoire and Mali. The Super Eagles face Cote d’Ivoire on January 9 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and they will then tackle Mali four days later at the same venue. Both West African teams use the matches to prepare for the AFCON in Equatorial Guinea. Super Eagles assistant coach Dan ‘the Bull’ Amokachi will lead the Eagles in the absence of Stephen Keshi. The squad made up of players from the domestic league will start a training camp in Abuja on Sunday.
