Nigerian as a people will remain corrupt for a very , very longtime . It is very dis-hearten that at this ‘atomic-age’and an age of where information is no longer hidden, thanks to internet, and social media.Some section of Nigerian people are canvasing the Federal government to facilitate the release of James Ibori from London Prison!!! What a people!!! Warri chief(thief) Ayirimi Emani made a statement in Oghara, the home country of James Ibori of recent that ‘’Despite(James Ibori) being in Prison,if Ibori happen to contest election now,he will win because he is a man of the people’’. What a statement!!! I am not so that surprise that the call was made to PDP led government, the simple reason been that, the PDP can field Ibori as a governorship candidate comes 2015,at least there was a precedent to that effect when Omisore won a Senatorial seat while he was in prison on an alleged murdered case!!! What really take me aback is that we Nigerian forget things easily ; this is a man that betrayed the trust imposed on him by the electorate; he stole their money,convert it to his personal use with the help of his co-conspirators. And these people are now celebrating a criminal by organizing a football match to celebrate his birthday.What they should have done in Delta house of Assembly is to pass a law that legalize corruption. What a wasted generation. I read from his co-conspirators that Ibori developed the sate. Which state did he develop? Delta state is one of the least state in Nigeria that its citizen cannot boast of good amenities in Nigeria. Its a state that we have a highest criminal activities in the whole country. Let even say he developed the state, was he using his personal fund to do that? What was his responsibility as a governor if the life of his subjects are not improving ? This guy was found guilty of money laundering and stealing with his gang by competent court of law in Britain, so he was given what he deserved. I thank God that the case was not tried in Nigeria , are corrupt judges will just gave him a fine of N50,000 and got free with all the charges. The popularity this corrupt and mediocre were talking about was based on criminal accumulation of wealth achieved by depriving the entire good people of Delta state of best amenities such as good roads, health care,nice schools,water etc. Moreover,i am not saying James Ibori is the only corrupt public official in Nigeria but it is also right to call a spade a spade. With the attendants of Delta state top government officials at the football novelty match people like Mr.Ben Igbakpa Commissioner for Transport, Faith Majemite Aide to Governor Uduaghan and Mr Henry Offa, member of board Delta State Oil Producing Area Dev, Commission (DESOPADEC), it show that the Deltas are still been rule by rouges.
