Nigerians in recent times have been witnessing a tremendous hardship and artificial scarcity of money in circulation due to the that politicians now are all contractors and registered contractors does not get contracts again from various ministries and the political class as one of the biggest spender of the economy were busy saving their money for the next election. And these attitudes invariably have lured many inpatients youths into committing one crime or the other. And it is to detriments of these corrupt leaders whose aims and objectives were to think about the next election gamble. Recent study also castigated these greedy folks of leaders for the menace and scarcity of funds in our society. It also revealed that registered contractors, who morally and financially supported these politicians during election, have been pushed to the wall. They do not get contracts again from various ministries. It is evidently clear, that if you go to any of the ministry in search of a petty contract, you would be surprise to hear, that these particular project is for sososo Senators or members of the House of Reps this and that. A situation where, all of them, that we voted into power turned to be Contractors, honestly, it is dangerous to the growth capacity building and the economy. Take a visit to the warehouses of Nigerian businessmen full of goods, but no supply is going on, as private companies do not make money as usual to pay workers salaries. What is the joy of a rich man, tell me! Most of the governors are now contractors. Investigation also revealed that immediately a politician wins election or being appointed as a minister the next thing is to register his own company at the Corporate Affairs Commission. They do go to China to import most of these items, including the ones, the people that morally and financially voted them into power, can easily supply. A study from our seaports indicates that elected politician turned contractors in their selfish interest and greed do import ordinary School Uniforms, School Bags, Campaign T-Shirts, CCTV Cameras, Plasma Televisions, Floor Ties, Carpets, Aluminum Roofing Sheets, Salt, Rice, Tomatoes, Crayfish, Cars, Sandals, Laboratory Equipments and Scientific Emporiums. This phenomena is absolutely total denial of Nigerians the opportunities to make an ends meet? If it’s a lie let someone shout no! Also very importantly, watch out and see that private companies, which plays significant role to employment of millions of ordinary NIGERIANS are now finding it difficult to pay salaries because most of their supplies had been hijacked by our unfortunate leaders. Hurray! The opportunity to vote them in is here again. A time, to make unfounded promises and a time to use innocent bloods for elections who is going to play the fool role this time. We must say no to Corrupt leaders. As we know all of them. They look by their looking……… ALAM-HAJIM EZEUGOH (Security Analyst/ Consultant)
