Night before last,about midnight; I held two men who were pouring blood in our local bar and grill parking lot (a family joint in the daytime). The bigger male had been shot 3 times, and the smaller guy once, that bullet narrowly missing his heart. It was some crazy meth head guy who ran and jumped in his beater car and drove off, we immediately ran up and started doing field dressings with our shirts and hands and belts. As I sat there talking to both guys holding their hands, they were obviously excruciating pain, they told me it was over a damn argument about a girl, and all day its had me thinking about how many fights have ended this way, with guys lying in their own blood on a cold pavement. Men, we have got to be better than this, Im not saying not to fight when you have too bc there is a higher calling..., but there is no argument in any bar between random strangers that should 30 mins later end in blood. We have to learn to communicate better with each other!! Its CRAZY IRONIC that in the technological day we live in of instant and constant communication, as a society we suck at talking to one another as humans. Men, what has happened to us? When did we become such wimps that couldnt deal with confrontation or conflict being able to communicate with intelligent words? Are we that pitiful and self-destructive, that when communication is easier than it has ever been that we as men, cant even talk out our issues with one another? We arent cavemen anymore!!! Im not saying not too fight when youre backed into a corner but damn guys! Well...Its a shame, I pray both men are doing better in the hospital. It stirred a change in me, I know it stirred a change in them, its time we as men all stand up and start being the better leaders that God has called us men to be. This world is going to hell in a hand basket, and I just dont want to be the one holding my ass in my own two hands when glory comes; whining about how I couldve been more pro-active about it. Im done, had to get it off my chest, love yall, and god bless our troops who fight every day and have fought for our freedom, you of all people probably understand best what Im talking about, fight when you only have too but for the love of God men, lets be better to one another.
