Night yall....we had a blast last night. Have not been any place to kick up our heels in many years. Yes we have been to weddings and such. Not only has it been a long time but a first for me of ever going into this establishment, even though it has been in Highlands county for mannny years. Back in the day it was called the Watering Hole and was known as a head skinner, or juke. My Mama warned my sister and I if she ever heard of us going in there she would half kill us, that meant she would kill us, dead! Believe me, we took her at her word! I will be 60 in March and last night was the first time I ever was in the parking lot, much less inside. It is now owned by the man Dennis works for, has been re-named, Cow Pokes, it has been redeemed and dressed up and serves great food. Very much enjoyed myself. I was thinking about having never been there and finally did go and another place I want to go, Heaven. Lots of things are known about the establishment we went to last night, but what is known, from the scriptures, about the new Heaven? One thing we know is that there will be no more of is, REVELATION 21:4(NIV)...HE will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. There will be no need for a sun or moon, REVELATION 21:23-25(NIV)...The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the Glory of GOD gives it light, and the LAMB is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. So what do we know about the new Heaven? We know where it is coming from and what she will look like, REVELATION 21:1-3(NIV)...Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from GOD, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Now the dwelling of GOD is with men, and HE will live with them. They will be HIS people, and GOD HIMSELF will be with them and be their GOD. Heaven will have a beauty beyond our imagination. REVELATION 21:10-14(NIV)...And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from GOD. It shone with the glory of GOD, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. We know how many gates there was as well, REVELATION 21:13-14(NIV)....There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. What was the measurement taken with? REVELATION 21:15(NIV)...The angel who talked with me has a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. The city was laid out in a square, REVELATION 21:16(NIV)...The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia, that is about 1,400 miles, in length, and as wide as it is long. He measured its wall and it was 144 cubits, that is about 200 feet, thick, by mans measurement, which the angel was using. The walls are described as, REVELATION 21:18-21(NIV)...The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gol, as pure as glass, The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chryoprase, the eleventh jacinth and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass. What a beautiful description of a place I want to call home, how about you? How do we get to heaven and the FATHER? JOHN 14:6(NIV)...JESUS answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the FATHER except through ME. What do we have to do? JOHN 3:3-6(NIV)...In reply JESUS declared, I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of GOD unless he is born again. How can a man be born when he is old? Nicodemus asked. Surely he cannot enter into his mothers womb to be born! JESUS answered, I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of GOD unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to the spirit. And then in , ACTS 3:19)NIV)...Repent, then, and turn to GOD, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the LORD. THY will be done, Amen. Rest well.
