Nights like tonight are some of the hardest we have to endure in rescue. Another puppy from our little litter from Missouri will be crossing the rainbow bridge tonight. Bernie has been a blessing to have in our rescue. Like his brother Bueller, he is so loving and funny. Bernie was once one of the biggest in his litter but slowly distemper has won the battle. These last few days have been filled with love and comfort for Bernie. We cant thank our fosters enough who took on these puppies knowing the pain they would have to eventually witness. Because of our fosters Bernie, like Bueller got to feel the most intense love a dog could get, even in his short existence on earth. Yesterday we thought he may have had a chance as his body was relaxing and not spasming, however today Bernie was no longer able to walk, eat or drink and while we were able to help him with those functions his quality of life is gone and he most likely wont make it another night. So tonight we are going to help him cross the bridge and we will be there to comfort him while he goes. Please send all your love and prayers for Bernie ðūð
