Nighttime travel restrictions will be in place on northbound U.S. - TopicsExpress

Nighttime travel restrictions will be in place on northbound U.S. Route 202 and on the highway’s ramp to eastbound Interstate 76 in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, and Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, for pavement patching. On Sunday through Friday (Aug. 10-15) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., lane closures will be in place on northbound Route 202 between Route 252 (Valley Forge Road) and the ramp to eastbound I-76, and on the northbound ramp to eastbound I-76. Motorists are advised to use extra care when driving through the construction areas and to allow additional time for travel as slowdowns may occur. This operation is part of the $4.4 million project to improve the pavement on Route 202 and Route 422 in the area where the two expressways connect. The project is financed from Act 89, the state’s new transportation plan. Construction is scheduled to finish in November. Funding provided by Act 89 is enabling PennDOT to make significant progress in addressing major roadway, bridge and transit needs across the Philadelphia region, including projects starting this year to resurface 100 miles of rough pavement and rehabilitate 28 deteriorated bridges in the five-county area. Motorists can check conditions on Route 202, Route 422 and other major roadways by visiting 511PA.
