Says he’s gonna walk across the sky line on a wire so thin, That he’ll claim world records, no matter the wind. This man of faith and wire walker supreme Will attempt to do something no one has ever dreamed. 600 feet above the ground makes any man shudder The steel cable is stretched from one building to another. A difficult incline is added for breath taking suspense Why anyone would try this, it hardly makes sense. If your name is not Wallenda then you probably can’t fathom Why walking a high wire presents such a challenge. Yes there will be records, rewards and fame to be certain But its Wallenda’s faith and belief that just won’t be broken! They’ll be no safety net, tether or a parachute Having such faith in oneself is so hard to refute. Nik’s conquered the Falls of Niagara, the Grand Canyon too Soon they’ll sing songs ‘bout ‘ol Nik in this home of the Blues. There are no men I know who would try such a feat, As the wind whips round, toying with your feet! No one has tried such a foolhardy mission Nik Wallenda hears a voice when most men won’t listen. Movement of the wire is called a hop One false step and it’s a deadly drop. The wire is strung over a river in Chi-town This daring stunt is certain to be felt, the world round. He taps the wire with caution of a cat And reviews all the rigging and metal straps. As he steps on the wire, all say a prayer A man with such courage is so very rare. High above the ground in this urban canyon Nik Wallenda walks the tightrope with fearless abandon. The crowd cheers wildly when he completes the first task He reaches the other building and it just seemed so fast! One walk completed, and for the next, he’ll be blind There’s no one like Nik, he’s one of a kind. The blindfold makes this feat hard to consider As Mother Nature intervenes with a cold winter shiver! We all hold our breath when Nik steps on the cable, A man calls out from the crowd, “this is all trickery, and mostly fable!” He was quickly shouted down, as most naysayers are Someone said he’d been drinkin’ and had just left a bar. The tension subsided when Nik waved to the crowd On this night in Chicago, all of the world could be proud. Nik gets a rock star’s reception whenever he goes And down deep in his heart he already knows, That strength, faith and luck will see him through And he shares his strong message with each one of you. Never give up has a certain ring to the ear Yet so many of us won’t confront our own fears! From above his Father is prideful of his son named Wallenda His son has made history as the “Greatest Wallenda”! Never give up, Never give up Never give up, no matter the task Even when all seems lost, you’ll get help, if you ask. Never give up; Never Give up should be your quiet refrain Try to do things right and you’ll not have to explain. Yes records were shattered and we all fought off our fears But this walk across a skyline made one thing clear Life doesn’t have to be what records are broken Or about a million in one hero whose message was spoken If you want change in your world, it is deep within you You must try to finish at all costs, whatever you do As John Lennon once said, “It’s all up to you. Oh, how “Never give up” rings so true. Never Give Up, Never Give Up, it’s all up to you If you want to change your life, you’ve got to see things though.
