Nikolai Alekseev: "To those who are blind or deaf I suggest to re-read the article I wrote for Russia Today last weekend, before the police raid on my flat. It was actually the reply to all accusations against me and gave answers to all questions concerning future fights for LGBT rights in Russia. Unfortunately the West lost its credibility in the LGBT fight in Russia cause they are in the West and we are here, fighting on the ground. And no publications or pickets in New York , London or San Francisco will be able to change the destiny of Russian LGBTs. Their destiny will be shaped here, in Russia. Russian LGBT leaders will be determined in Russia and not in the West which did nothing for real Russian activists facing arrests, police raids, dirty cells, court battles, fines, harrassment, firings etc etc. We in Russia got nothing! We did all by ourselves and will continue to do. Two major LGBT victories against Russia were achieved without any single euro and USD from the West. And those victories and not the vodka or Coca-Cola boycotts that will shame our future in Russia. Read Alekseyev v. Russia at the European Court and Fedotova v. Russia at the UN Human Rights Committee. And 30 more cases will be won in the next years. By us! Not by the West! And no single Russian LGBT can be called a traitor until he or she is here on the ground trying to do at least something to change this country. The traitors are now in New York, London, San Francsco or anywhere else in the world where they are warm and cozy playing in the game of fighting for LGBT rights in Russia. But they are just using the flight simultor, we in Russia are flying the real plane!"
