Nilim Dutta, Chairman, United Peoples Movement asks a simple question about Muslims in #Assam: On 20 July 2012, 4 Bodo youth, reportedly ex-BLT cadre, were killed by some Muslim villagers in very contentious circumstances in Joypur village in Kokrajhar. That became the excuse to unleash violence against hundreds of innocent Muslim villagers across hundreds of villages in Kokrajhar & Chirang districts of BTAD in Assam, killing nearly a hundred and displacing at least 350,000 Muslim villagers. On 1 & 2 May 2014, more than 40 Muslim villagers have been brutally massacred in three consecutive massacres by Bodo armed elements and Bodo government forest guards. The survivors have indisputably established the identities of some of these mass murderers. Yet, there have not been even a single retaliatory killings against innocent Bodo people. Tell me now which community has harboured genocidal extremists and terrorists?
