Nine innocent Baloch arrested during New Kahan raid, two youth shot dead in Surab 2013-10-31 Quetta :Balochistan; Pakistani security forces have abducted at least nine residents of New Kahan Quetta during a pre-dawn raid on Thursday morning. Baloch activists on social media reported that personnel of Pakistan army, FC and secret agencies conducted a joint operation in New Kahan, a Marri Baloch populated area near Quetta. The Pakistani forces have reportedly opened aerial firing to harass the residents. Baloch women and children have been beaten and manhandled during the course of wanton operation. The resident of New Kahan have termed the operation as continuation of occupying forces anti Baloch policies, adding that: “The sate forces are trying to force the residents to abandon the area because during the operation the Pakistan forces threaten to leave New Khan or else they will be killed.” It is pertinent to note that several times in the past Pakistani forces threaten to bulldoze the entire area of New Kahan and forcefully expel the residents. However, the inhabitants of the area have refused to leave. The Baloch National Voice in a press release said that New Kahan operation, broad daylight murder of Waqar Naseer Baloch, discovery of bodies of Safar Khan Bugti and Wahid Bugti and military operations in earthquake areas of Balochistan are continuations to on- going military offensives in Balochistan. The BNV said Nawaz Sharif and Dr Malik should learn from the fate predecessors, who despite using brutal forces in Balochistan, have failed in their mission to defeat Baloch freedom struggle. BNV also urged the media outlets not to turn a blind eye on state atrocities in Balochistan and report objectively to fulfil their journalistic responsibilities. Meanwhile in a separate incident the state back death squad have shot dead two Baloch juveniles in Anjeera area of Surab, Balochistan. The victims have been named as named as 12 year old Rafiq Ahmad and 15 year old Nisar Ahamd Baloch. Zakaria Zehri Baloch an uncle of the victims was previously target killed by the same state backed death squad.
