Nine members of the Augusta bird club met at the Viles Arboretum, - TopicsExpress

Nine members of the Augusta bird club met at the Viles Arboretum, Augusta from 7-9 this morning. It was over cast, 45-50F and the wind picked up toward the end of the walk. We walked from the visitor center around Viles Pond, through the woods trail and out around the board walk and back, seeing the following 31 species, including six warbler species, and 2 FOYs for me: Oven Bird and Yellow Warbler. Thanks, Lionel Quirion, for leading the walk. Weather depending, he will be there every week day during May at 7:00 am for those who want to join the walk for as long as you can stay. - Margaret Viens, Waterville Turkey Vulture Wilsons Snipe Herring Gull Mourning Dove Downy Woodpecker Northern Flicker (Yellow-shafted) Eastern Phoebe Blue Jay American Crow Tree Swallow Black-capped Chickadee House Wren Ruby-crowned Kinglet Eastern Bluebird Ovenbird Black-and-white Warbler Northern Parula Yellow Warbler Yellow-rumped Warbler Black-throated Green Warbler Chipping Sparrow Savannah Sparrow Song Sparrow Swamp Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Northern Cardinal Red-winged Blackbird Common Grackle House Finch Purple Finch American Goldfinch
