No Big Deal “I don’t get it,” she said, complete mystification in her 27-year-old voice. She’d arrived over two hours late for a private dinner in someone’s home. Her host got upset with her, and she simply couldn’t understand why. I asked her why she was late: she had a headache and needed to take a nap. I asked if she called her host to let him know: she’d called at 5pm -- the time she was supposed to have arrived -- and said she was just leaving home, which was 40 minutes away. At 6:20pm she’d called again to let him know she had stopped to run an errand and was finally on her way.
