T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha under Kerala University of Health & Allied Sciences, Thrissur u/s 10A of the IMC Act, 1956. Read: the Council Assessor’s report (06th January 2014) on the physical and other teaching facilities available at Govt. T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha under Kerala University of Health & Allied Sciences, Thrissur for Starting of MD(TB & Respiratory Medicine) course u/s 10A of the IMC Act, 1956. The Postgraduate Committee considered the Council Assessor’s report (06th January 2014) and decided to recommend to the Central Govt. to disapprove the scheme for Starting of MD(TB & Respiratory Medicine) course at Govt. T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha under Kerala University of Health & Allied Sciences, Thrissur u/s 10A of the IMC Act, 1956 because of the following reasons:- 1. There is gross deficiency of staff even for UG 150 admissions. 2. Clinical material is inadequate. 3. Medical college website is not updated. 4. There is shortage of space in wards. There is no separate pulmonary medicine department ward. 5. Department wise distribution of beds are inadequate. 6. OPD facilities are inadequate. 7. There is deficiency of space for faculty of the department. 8. Demonstration room is shared with Spirometry equipments. 9. Equipments are inadequate. 10. Central library is inadequate. 11. Research publications are inadequate. 12. Other deficiencies as pointed out in the assessment report.
