No NIght Flights has passed on these photos/maps which show quite clearly why Ramsgate has been far more compromised by noise than other airports. An outline of Ramsgate has been superimposed over the aerial shot of each airport. They also show why getting any kind of proper planning permission (which it has always lacked) for an airport would prove impossible. Most airports, even really busy ones, do not have major population centres less than a mile away from the end of their runway.
