No New Years Resolutions for me. I decided last year that New Years Resolutions dont work because they are centered around who we are tired of being rather than the person God wants us to become. Resolutions can (and in my case, usually are, broken by the end of January).....and this doesnt leave any room for growth. So, last year I read an article about a concept called My One Word where you choose one single word that embodies who you want to become. One simple word that helps you focus on becoming the person God created you to be. Last year was the first year I had tried this new concept, a New Years Un-Resolution and I really liked it. So Ive been putting a lot of thought into what this years one word is going to be and today it hit me. My one word for 2015 is PURPOSE. Losing Andrew last month has really forced me to take a long, hard look at many aspects of my life......the people around me, my faith, my own life and how I affect others. Andrew was truly an angel among us. The legacy of his life, his unshakable faith, his commitment to Christ, his courage and his love for the things in life that really mattered -Jesus, family and friends- this legacy cant perish with the loss of Andrew. His life, though short, was overflowing with PURPOSE. He lived every day to the fullest, appreciated the little things and gave God every ounce of glory for it all. He was ALWAYS lifting others up and reminding us all how blessed we are to have a Savior who loves us and will never forsake us. I am so very grateful that God chose me to be a part of Andrews life and I will honor his memory this year and every year by living my life with PURPOSE.
